thought so too, but let's just see how fast things go... let's give it a month or two in the way Eve proposes.

If things go well, then there's no need to change it... If it's going slow... We can always reconsider. The way things are it is probably the easiest to organize, so why make it difficult (Alltough I love doing difficult... Twisted Evil )

It's not that we want to break a record, do we? Do we? Do we? ...

note: site will be ready by monday-evening (European time).. got a faw hicups, that need to be solved first... But I'm off for the weekend...

we can break a record if we make it the longest roll canvas there is! Very Happy How many members does psc have? Laughing Laughing That makes me wonder, grefix.. if this thing is complete is there an option to insert new pieces? Oh... and who collects all of the pieces?

Pieces will be collected by Eve and/or me.

And the roll canvas will be infinite project,
Once the second piece is submitted the first piece will be published. So every time we get a new piece the previous piece will be added. So this project can actually last to the End of Time Very Happy.

As soon as we have the first pieces they will be published. Once new pieces roll in they will be added to the canvas

btw. the longest canvas is claimed to be 63.91 feet (19.74 meter) (at this time) this means it's an image with a width 55218 px (at 72dpi) and growing...
So if each publishd image has a width of 800px, we would at least need 70 images Smile

Ok I may have missed it but is there a post that says what size the image has to be, file size ect.

it's mentioned in the first post of the thread (after editing Smile )

Eve and I decided the following;
3333 x 2083 pixels at 300 dpi

then re-sample image at 72 dpi and canvas will equal 800x500 pixels.

submit the larger image, resampling can be done by Eve or me, if you wish.

I'll place a list of those who've responded so far on the 1st post of this thread later today. They're numbered by order of response BUT if someone's out of town/vacation/ill when it's their turn, it can be passed onto the next person. Nothing's written in stone. Very Happy

This is the reason for making it one person at a time. That and 'cause it's easier too. Seem reasonable? Now the important part, Grefix, do we really want to publish as we go along or...OR would it be best to make a grand debut and be surprised how it's been put together. This is a collaborative work and not a competition as we're used to doing here.

Question
Very Happy

I have no problem with waiting, and to start with a big bang Smile I can't speak for everyone else offcourse..

Nah, don't need to beat the record, I'm just rambling, so we get more people to work with us :p

That doesnt say how big the file size has to be, ie is it to be 75kb or 125kb. Im assuming it should be 75kb so the 56k users wont have problems.

you don't have to worry about compressing it, just send in the uncompressed image (doen't matter what size it is), so there's no quality and detail loss. We'll worry about the rest Smile
