Even though the odds were against him, I was still shocked when I heard about it this morning.
Sad

Very sad. Went and kayaked today in his honor.

I still on occasion wake my 4-year old up by pretending he's a "beautiful croc" and I'm Steve Irwin out rescuing dangerous crocs.

Sometimes I get eaten though.

I know I've called Steve Irwin a nutcase, and maybe he was a bit over the top, I lost a fare amount of respect for the guy when he held his baby and fed a crock, had he tripped and fell, it could have been a bad scene, a 1 month old baby has no place in a pen with big crocks, but all in all his love was to save animals from extinction, and for that, I did admire him, I do feel bad for his family, I know they were everything to him, as he was to them, maybe the best lesson he taught us all was to respect wildlife, even the things that we don't think will hurt us. Confused

I hated him as an Aussie icon and a so call animal expert.
Rather mourn him as a father and a husband.
RIP

I was very saddened by his death... I pray that his family will stay strong and that his children will have the same passion for wildlife as he had.

While I tend to agree that my baby would have no business near croc's... Steves kids needed to know early on that crocs are part of their lives... Hes handled crocs on a daily basis...Hell he has crocs in his backyard at his house. He knew what he was doing, and apparently before BOB went out with him to feed the croc, the croc had already been well fed... should he wait till they crawl into the backyard to pet one to find out about them? hardly.

Sad day for the planet really, we've lost one of our planet's most passionate conservationists
RIP Steve. Confused
