did they get your permission?...
If so...gee...thanks for sharing with the site.
I'm guessing they didn't.

I gave them permission to use what ever they like in the article. That goes for most others out there too. As long as a company or individual are not using the work here in bad context or to directly make money, it is all good.

maybe they did ask??

if i understand that correctly, the mighty gods of PSC are holding all the rights (of our chops, too). so, who knows if they asked jmh for permission...

and actually... does it matter? we got promotion! Very Happy

if they printed my work, i'd be chuffed to bits. i wouldn't give two hoots about whether they asked or not. but then i'm not a graphic designer or anything

I'm fine with it. PSC 'needs' to have the fact that they will allow images from here to be used in commercial print.
Images chopped by users on PSC are the property of the user.

Unfortunatly once entered into a contest the general rule is the poster looses the rights to displayed image to the admin unless either othewise stated in the entry rules or a pre-submission agreement is made unless the image is pre-copyrighted and released to the contest only by the origional owner. But most contests have (non-copyrighted)
included in the submission area rules.

In short the admin has the right to allow other people to publish the work as long as it is not a trade mark, copyright or otherwise infringing on a countries law.

It is at the administrators disgretion is he or she chooses to inform the artist as to any transaction involving their posted art.

after reading this forum post this morning i went and bought the magazine and its a great read altogether and the article on PSC is a great review of this site.

it also takes up about 3/4 of a page right at the front of the magazine so it will be read by everyone that buys it so expect an influx of people as there were two others reading it in store and i got talking to them and pointed out that as a member of the site i could say the article was bang on.

great find Marco and what a great magazine will have to keep an eye on this one every month now, another to add to my collection Sad

Nice one Blade, I couldn't remember if it was £6 or £8 for the UK issue, I believe you can order single issues also judging from the content on the website. It also sounds like they stock to certain areas of Europe and North America too, but not 100% sure

my pleasure Marco i bought it so i knew what the price was Wink

the UK subscription charge is £62.30 for 13 issues
Europe is £70 for 13 issues
and the rest of the world is £80, there is no small print about it being restricted to America/Canada so it looks like they will ship it anywhere

PS for attention of JMH

get on to them and complain JMH as on the disc they have an Affiliates/Directory section and in this section they have
Creative community and a Photoshop Tutorials sections and photohopcontest.com isn't listed under either heading and it should be under at least one of them don't you think Wink
