It would depend on what it's for I guess. The left has more of a "professional" feel and the right is more whimsical. If that even made sense.

Yeah, I like the left one better... Whimsical is a good word, I was going to say "goofy".
Laughing

And it truly does matter what it's going to be used for. If a children's book, then definitely the right one. A company logo, the left one.

The D is for the word distinction and it's for my own graphic design company. I wanted it to have more of a cartoony feel since it will be representing graphic design work. Once I decide on one then I can give it some final touches. So I'm not looking for quality right now, I just want to know which one is a better fit so I can concentrate on one to finalize it.

Interesting. Even though it's going to be used for a graphic design firm? The idea was also, which one will make you look for a longer time. Which one makes you stop and stare. I don't want it to be boring. Here's the whole thing. Perhaps this will help more.

a logo should be readable in only 1 color.... Confused it's not readable because the frog completely obliterates the D. it also has too much details, i would recommend simplifying the whole concept. Not a good one for a Graphic design firm...

Ok. Too many details, inconsistent coloring, busy. Is this one better? Perhaps I'm too close to this and been dealing with it for far too long. I may have to start all over again then.
