just a thought...why can't we go metric with time...

100 sec = 1minute
100 min = 1hr
10hr = 1 brighter day
10 hr(another) = 1 darker day
1 brighter day + 1 darker day = 1 Full day
100 full days = 1month
10 months = 1 year
100 yrs = 1 century
10 century =1 millenium
10 millenium = .... etc?
Very Happy

Funny idea!

it would help a lot already if the world would go metric and decimal. Time is something everyone on earth uses. But not everybody knows inches, feet, gallons, pints and so on (or litres, meters... Wink ).

Celsius centigrade would be a good thing, too. Although I'm familiar with the US fahrenheit.

I agree QotNS. The first guy to work out the 60-12-24 system must have been quite a salesman. That, Or the guys in charge were all drunk. Isn't time a British thing? Something to do with Greenwich?

Time has to do with circles/spheres. Whichever idiot divided a circle into 360 degrees is the one responsible for the 12/24 cycle of time and months.

If you divided the globe by 1000 degrees instead of 360 degrees then you'd be able to have a decimal-based time system. I say 1000 as 100 would be really long time-frames. 100 would perceptually be ~3x slower than current while 1000 would be ~3x faster than current.

So 1 second would be ~3 metric/decimal seconds.
