I am looking to buy an intuos wacom tablet, but I just can't decide whether I should get the 6 x 8 or the 9 x 12. Is is worth it to get those couple extra inches to work with?

In my humblest opinion--with the fact that you'll set a slider as a zoom tool anyway---zeroing in and out instantly...I definately prefer a smaller tablet...a small area not requiring me to move my arm allover..keeping my wrist firm to the desk and not up and about moving causing unwanted squiggles.
Others may disagree, perhaps you can find somewhere to test them out...but when testing, please test it while making use of the zoom slider.
I have seen a few people try a tablet and get scared away from it quickly--i did too...but give yerself a chop or two and give it a real fair chance..after a short period of adjusting to tablet use you will be
very satisfied and comfortable with it. It's a wonderful wonderful thing.

Buy one....you won't be dissapointed. I have the Intuos 3 ,6x8 and it works great with my widescreen. I have one slider set to zoom and the other for brush size....then ya got 8 more buttons to use for just about any short-cut, etc. Just a short break-in time and you'll never wanna chop without it. I wouldn't shell out more clams for the 9X12 tho.( ... what scion said about that) Cool Cool

As above, once you get used to a tablet you will wonder how you managed to chop with a mouse,This is one situation when I don't mind admitting to having a small one Very Happy
