I try to load this gif into a contest but it won't...I just get the error message.
I've tried 500x500 65b, and 800x800 192kb....nothing I try is working! Any ideas???
This is made in CS3 Extended not Image ready, I don't know if that makes a difference...

Tried to make as big as I could so you could see..

Q: What kind of image files can I enter?
A: In most contests images must be a JPEG or a GIF file. The size of the file must be under 125kb in actual size. JPEG image dimensions must be less than 800 pixels wide by 600 pixels high. Animated GIFs must be less than 550 wide by 450 high. If you are getting an error message, try reducing the file size and/or dimensions just a bit and then uploading again. so you can't make a square image? 500x500 or 550x550...Hmmmm I'll try, 525x425

ok when I did 525x425 I got:

Warning: copy(/home/photosho/public_html/images/fullsize/aylg9sfrmj17hshepd4f4vnwf7ysw28hfumi.gif.0) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/photosho/public_html/inc/main/functions.php(269) : eval()'d code on line 176

you can fake a square... just add white or some other color to the space you don't want to use and just keep your action area to the square

I just did one that looks like widescreen format... the actual size of the gif is 500x350, but I only used about 500x308 for the animation area. The rest of the space was black fill.

thanks... it's worth it to keep trying to do gifs - in my opinion. I've even been able to use my new skill at work!

and if you need help with gifs, just ask any of us that do them frequently.

I got that line as well, as long as it says your images have been updates successfully, you are set. And you can go and check it out, by clicking on the image to see how it looks online.

And don't be put off by all this. You will get used to the quirks here.

I think everyone should have to at least try doing a gif, just to show how hard they are to make.... Before I tried, I was very bias against them.... Now Laughing just ask Tofu Laughing

and Nik you ever need help, I'm always available.

this one didn't win, one of my favs though, only the fly is an outside source.
