Yeah...definitely...The Big Lebowski is one of the best comedies ever....easy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iglG98RB7ow&feature=related

I like Die Hard quite a bit but I'm gonna have to go with
Hard Boiled , for action.

DUDE! I should watch that. Could it even have more action than the preview showed? Anything by John Woo has got to be great though.

i'm taking a course on silent films and came across this one

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6212251291122767572&hl=en

Andalusian Dog - it's a short sureal film by Bunuel, written by Bunuel and Dali

it's just freaky, if you got 16 minutes i really recommend watching... i watched it about 8 times and i still have no idea whats going on in there...

Yeah....helluva lotta ammo fired in that one. I'm sure it's on the "Most Bullets Fired" film list. It's got great style. That friggin Cantonese dubbing can be real aweful tho, but....
I think it's Woo's best film...easy....although "Chi Bi" (Red Cliff) is come'n up soon...so we'll see bout that I guess. With Tony Leung, Wei Zhao and Takeshi Kaneshiro it's kinda hard to go wrong.

i watched The Haunting in Connecticut last night... it was nothing i was expecting... i was expecting a tense movie, like The Exorcism of Emily Rose was... a movie that would make ya shit yer pants and leave the lights on to sleep... and what i got was just an average haunted house movie with a lame Elias Koteas as a wanna-be father Merrin... I mean... he was Casey Jones in the TMNT trilogy, godammit... what did ya expect?

It´s an OK movie... but don´t expect it to give ya the goosebumps. I´ll keep waiting for a decent psychological terror movie... REC was great (and I´m talking about the original... not the lame yankee remake). The Uninvited was good. But I still hope they do better than what´s been coming out.

ps. thanks Claf... I knew someone had done this before.

would ya mind explaining how is this a trilogy??????? WTF? They´re three distinct movies... except they were directed by the same director, I see no connection among them...

My last waste of time, "Slumdog Millionaire".
I kept watching it, thinking it was crap, knowing that it had to eventually become good, because it was Best Picture at the 2009 academy awards. The movie ended and all I could think of was "The Dark Knight" was wayyyy better than this garbage. This is why I hate the academy. A couple Other Academy Blunders that were a waste of my time:

2005: Million Dollar Baby
2000: American Beauty (though I can see why people liked it, I just thought it was too predictable).

I have to strongly disagree... even though Dark Knight was kick ass, it´s in no way better than Slumdog Millionaire... i too hate the Academy sometimes... but this time they got it right...

A few as of recent....

The International I'm a huge fan of Tom Tykwer's films, but this one fell a bit short, storywise....I felt kinda jipped in the end....but still over-all worth a watch.

Hana 2006 Really enjoyed that one.

Yojimbo 1961 Loved it. I even like it better than "Fistful..." I just like Mifune's character more than Eastwood's...and the movie in general.

I have high hopes for District 9

Anyone else gonna see it?

My fav this year is Horsemen, Directed by Jonas Åkerlund. With Dennis Quaid, Ziyi Zhang, Lou Taylor Pucci. A recently widowed detective still grieving over his wife's death discovers a shocking connection between himself and the suspects in a serial killing spree linked to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
