But seriously, if there was ever anyone who could put a leash on a contest like this, Splodge would be my pick. He is a proven veteran and an impartial judge. He lets you know if its bad, he lets you know if it is good. Always constructively, not in the way that makes you want to drown yourself in your own self pity, but in a way that makes you want to strive to do better. In a way that would keep you coming back. Rock on Splodge!

Maybe a theme contest? Perhaps a moving target? A Bug? A Season? A B/W contest? Your thoughts?

Theme contests is what we had in mind. Those are definitely good themes, and I'm sure we'll use them.

As far as voting goes, I think instead of giving users x amount of votes per contest, we could do unlimited votes. Each vote has a few parameters like, fits the theme, out of the box,and execution. For each one, you rate it out of ten for a total of 30 points. The person with the most points at the end of the comp wins.

These are just ideas, and I'd like to hear feedback.

Maybe a scavenger hunt? A belt? A shoe? Train? Plane? Is this going to be a chopped pic or some good ol fashioned Pfotography?

It really should not matter what kind of camera you use, as long as you post a picthat strikes the judges. I have seen some phenomenal pics taken with a 110 camera. How would you tell if a pic was untouched?

Is there going to be a porn section to this contest site? I really like porn in the morning.

Exif data would be a way to do that. Problem is with that, you have to say no retouching at all.

In my mind, I'm just thinking it can't be obviously photoshoped. Removing a ring, or blemishes etc. would be ok with me.

http://www.fotofight.com/index.php

This is a kind of cool site. Kind of along the lines of DpChallenge.
i haven't entered there for a while; it looks like they don't have many contest right now though.

Nifty idea.

I'd like to sign up now, please. Very Happy

Daily contests...good idea, I think.

Themed contests...of course...and by theme I mean not just "Ok...go shoot a great shot of a candy cane"...I'm thinking more..."Ok...go shoot Christmas/Holiday Season".

(Note to those in charge...maybe contact Nikon, Canon, etc. for a small sponsorship? Maybe they got some freebies stuck somewhere?)

Portolios/Galleries?
