Why is "off topic" saying that only moderators can read it.?

I have a post for the "off topic" ...

...but if only mods can read there...
... then it should not be listed as "off topic" ..
...should it not be called..."mods private discussions" ?

...here ... anyway ...is my post :

Do with it what you like.
.
.
.
Thursday morning at 5 am my little brother was taking a shower when he smelled smoke.

He came out to find that the entire bedroom was on fire.

A space heater had ignited something.

he had an escape route ...a door in that bedroom led to the outside.

Instead ...without a stitch of clothing ...he ran through the fire ...across burning carpet ...to get to the adjoining bedroom where our mother was still sleeping .

He pulled her out of the house ..her hair got singed ...and then he collapsed from burns and smoke inhalation .

He is at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Critical but stable condition .

The critical status is only because he is on the breathing machine ...this is to make him breathe deeper ...so they can clear his lungs ...and reduce the irritation caused by the smoke and heat.

They weren't supposed to give me all this info over the phone by law ...but the nurse did anyway.

She said he will be ok ...and their biggest challenge is dealing with him trying to pull out the tubes.

They have his hands tied down.

Going tomorrow to see him as soon as my wife get's the way over-expired tag on the car renewed.

He will be ok ...and he is a hero.

My Mom lost everything ...home ...clothes ...pictures,

...she found her beloved cat ...Crying or Very sad ...he didn't make it out.

She is staying with a friend ..and saving everything for a new apartment on the same street .

Thank God ...they made it out alive .

What courage does it take to run naked
into an inferno ?

He is a bit crispy ...and his lungs are like 'ell ....but he saved her life ...he is ...a well done ...hero

I'm praying for his speedy recovery

This is terrible news, I know your brother must be in pain, one time I had all the hair burnt off my leg when my tent went up like a bomb in the middle of the night, I just got out in time, and it hurt like hell, keep us posted, sorry to hear about the cat, like you said, thank God they made it out in time.

Hope your brother has a fast recovery. Thats to bad your Mom lost everything in the fire.
Sounds to me I could have been much worse if he didn't react like he did.

Best wishes,
Todd

This has been a pretty shitty year. I hope your brother makes a speedy recovery. Give smoke detectors to everyone you know for Christmas.

As far as I know this is the story in the news, and they write that there were no injuries, I just sent the details that I know to them, (7) so maybe they will change the story and let people know, if they get back to me I'll send them to you JW Shocked
