Does the next round start tomorrow? If so I'm not gonna be at my best. I'm drunk now so I'll be hungover tomorrow(I'll solve that with more drink). And it's the last day of the Premier League on Sunday and my beloved Newcastle United have had a great season and have a chance at the UEFA Champions League. If we get there I'm gonna get totally mashed. If we don't get there we've still had a great season and are in the UEFA Europa League so I'm gonna get totally mashed! Smile

Ok, the double no show fill-ins:

These are decided by the two entries that got the highest percentage of votes in their match in a losing effort. It just so happens that this time those were also the top 2 aggregate vote getters in a losing effort as well.

Here are the results:

koorio 48.515% (49)
Sleepyeyed 47.664% (51)

Tad 47.573% (49)
shane.e.randall 47.475% (47)
L@rue 46% (46)

One double no-show match was for a 15 seed, while the other was for a 16 seed.
Since koorio was in a match for an 11 seed and Sleepyeyed was in a match for a 14 seed, koorio will replace silentdead/nova (15 seed) and face Ivan Roujev, while Sleepyeyed will replace Robiin33/meldinar (16 seed) and face Claf.

These changes may not be reflected by the time the 2nd round goes live, but should be very soon. I have pm'ed both of the people advancing to let them know they are in Round 2.

Uhhhh... how is it you came to be a 16 seed playin? Shocked

Sorry, not big into contests and the lingo. I guess you are asking why I'm ranked in the 3rd sub-basement? Smile Well, I guess I answered that in my 1st sentence. lol. I did traditional art long ago, well before handling my 1st WACOM pen. So as I get familiar with the tools, I can incorporate more and more of the intangibles from the past. Plus I have a side gig now where I'm "creating" animals almost every week so I've been studying quite a few critters the last couple months.

I haven't had much chance to play this year, but I love this site because of all the design professionals who hang out here. I've spent hours & hours just looking at the works and studying styles, techniques, subtleties. I know I'm one of the sucky n00bs blackfox described for the 1st round, but I would ask that you (the pros) encourage and not denigrate those lower in the pecking order because you do inspire... and it always sucks when someone creates inspirational work but dirties the perception with their words. Just my humble opinion, but what do i know? Wink

While I'm not big into contests, I do like challenge. So I have a different take - I look at each round as an opportunity to best myself. I can't control what my competitor will do, but I can challenge myself to give a little more each time. I didn't do that last year - I got all huffy and hung up on the pic (chickens) and consequently lost. Hopefully lesson learned. Peace and good luck.

I noticed on a few, an opponent not voting for the other.

Just so you know, while it's not mandatory, it is good form to vote for your competition.

good luck to everyone who made it to Rd 2. Lets get this party started already.

Meh, I didn't need to voice that "sucky n00bs" comment above. I agree with anfa in that a member should be able to voice any opinion, even if unpopular, because it's their opinion. blackfox's comment really didn't offend me - I've heard worst. lol. Compared to many here I am a hack. I do this for fun, I have no professional rep at stake. So that a gifted designer would see me as a hack too, well that's not too shocking.

This is what I wanted to say: it's getting harder to attract new choppers to sites - I know this personally. That golden age you pine for is not coming back. So it might be a good idea for the old pros to be gentle with new folk until they get their feet wet, then attack them full throttle. Wink

returning to STFUAC mode now. Smile Peace.
