No externals in my image, everything made from source. I did look at images of telephone/telegraph poles for ideas and perspectives.

Also, my first idea was a fish. I used various drawings and images of fish for guidance on how to put it together. The scales are from individual threads on the screws. The fins from the left screw shadow. The head from the right screw I think and the eye from the left. I was going to use a lot of color, like a parrot fish or fancy goldfish. After about 1000 layers of this thing I decided it was too boring, that's when I thought about the telegraph pole and combining it with the fish. The poles are made from the screws.

Here is unfinished fish before I shrank it down to final size in the combined image.
