It would be sooooooooooooo nice to be able to upload larger file sizes for GIF's! I'm not talking about a ridiculous amount. 1M would suffice to allow better quality for something that takes a lot of work.

It is somewhat disheartening to do what may take a gazillion layers, sometimes 30 or so separate chopped compositions, have it looking pretty slick, and then optimize it under 500K to get a spotty piece of small animation. It doesn't reflect the effort.

Look nice idea but PSC hosts the images and well if we started to host images of that size on a frequent bassis then I beleive costs would go up. I may be wrong but I think that was the reason I was given when last I asked this question.

It's only double the size. I would be willing to relinquish my 2 entry privilege. It would be a wash. And considering we're only seeing 10-20 entries per contest these days, I don't think letting 1 or 2 entries per contest have an extra 500K would break the bank. It would only increase the quality of the displayed work.

If cost is the issue, then why can't there be an option on advantage membership to pay a little extra for a 1Mb GIF upload option. I would definitely pay a little extra for this feature and it would eliminate the "costs to much" argument.

(If the site owners don't like this option then they aren't interested in making money with this site, fostering it's growth, or listening to their customers)
