Just make it a little smaller and surprisingly it will take it down alot of KBs.

OR just go, FILE/Save for web... thats what i use most times. also make sure that the dimensions are less than 550 wide by 600 high. if you make sure you have the dimensions and you save for web you should be well under size.

agreed, when printing an image, never EVER use save for web, but if youre just viewing pictures on-line, you can use that function and wont loose any detail without having to make the image smaller. mhm

like i said, i make my images save it as a .psd then i make it 72dpi, 550 wide and save for web. you dont loose any of the detail, and i retain the original .psd doc if i want to tweak it, use it as wallpaper or print it out.
