I have an idea...lets leave it just the way it is.
forget about the votes, forget about the "Im better at idea than technique", "Im better at technique than idea", "this one is the funniest", friends voting for friends, newbie vs oldbie, "I'll never win", etc...

we have contests after contests here, some formal, some informal and no one is asked NOT to participate and everyone is given an even playing field. Thats right...even.

No one stops you from learning, everyone can follow a few tutorials...PSC even has a few good ones of their own. Thats what I did...thats what lots of the good choppers did.

Play the game or dont...thats my idea.

I dont agree with showcase - He is a rich man as far as votes go and the poor man still exists, no wonder he agrees because he sits high a top the richman with votes platform and any further leveling of the UNEVEN playing field will hinder the rich from getting votes. I say ANNOYMOUS VOTING! I said it 2 years ago, I said it 1 year ago I'll say it today...
A N N O N Y M O U S V O T I N G.
That is the only TRUE level playing field.

I dont understand why the showcases of PSC worry about annonymous voting? Whats wrong with voting for a work based 100% purely on its content and what it means to you...
I personally would rather not see the author until 3 days after the fact - It adds more drama and fun into the equation and it allows those truely undervoted chops to at least make the top 10. I wish there was a way I could turn off the "Author" information when I vote.

I agree.

However, I think that voting should be kept un anonymous -- I like to see who votes for my images, and whatnot.

However, I think the AUTHOR should remain anonymous. That way, you won't know who made what image, and friend-voting would be reduced drastically, unless someone has a very recognizable style.

What is the problem with that idea? Question
