Anyway, Arc is chopping, I believe. But what's the OFFICIAL word on how to handle this?

a few girls are safe in Brazil tonight? Razz

I thought we were in agreement to allow subs in situations like this.

if we are not, place DLowrie back in the tourney. I'm ok with that.

I'm chopping anyway... just let me know the final decision.

I thought so, too, but no one who has any authority over substituting one name for another has confirmed Arc as the substitute.

Gref made a good point that I agree with. However, if there are subs, it should be the highest-voted loser, imo. Just like how the subs were chosen from Round 1 to fill in for Round 2 spots.

And I added Scion's blurb (in my last post) because I agree with that, too: no, it isn't fair. Tough situation when someone forfeits. Nothing that's done can possibly be fair to everyone...

Lemme just make this clear....

If you are choosing the loser who got the most votes in the 2nd round (Arcaico) then thats fine.

I you are basing it on percentages (like it SHOULD have been to begin with) then thats NOT fine by me! Cos that would have put me in the 2nd round with 49.2% of the votes. If you have chosen by 'loser with most votes' to begin with then it should REMAIN that way.

Ive already complained about this decision and it seems i have lost...but if you decide to use percentages (like it should have been) then i will have no choice but to whinge and complain some more!

Everybody is arguing and no real decisions are being made.
I think a win-win solution would be to just kick Jerico out of the tournament.
Its what best for me, you and the World as a whole.

why do you see this as an argument...it isn't.

For the record, ARC, Janfet saw huub's announcement and pm'd me that she'd be willing to fill his spot. I saw it was an opportunity, and rather than stand idly by and do nothing and see another no show, I acted on it.

Hopefully, Supak, our master coder, can make the arrangements to allow Arc to upload his image.

g'night!

It should definitely be the highest vote getter if it's anyone. If that person is unavailable, then it goes to the next highest vote getter. That's the way it worked when I took Chris's place in the tourney a few years ago.

If the rules get changed, you can't do it in the middle of the tourney (unless of course it's to let PhotoshopMaster have an automatic IN to the final rounds).

My 2 cents is that there is precedent for adding someone in later rounds. Chrispis was added in the first H2H in Round 4 and nearly went on to win...however, well...most know how that ended! ;p

This is starting to look and smell like 'good ole boys' in action.

All I know is that I would be p-o'd if a loser from an early round got a second chance in a single elimination tournament and beat me for prizes.

What's that funny sound? It's the rules being run over by a truck.

I am thinking this,

Round 3 is what we are dealing with, so, a replacement in the brackets should come from ROUND 3. The Highest Percentage loser, like P. said, of round 3 should fill an open bracket.

That means you only need to fill a position when both choppers can't turn up. Otherwise it is just the one person going through who did show up.

And all the other changes everybody was talking about, those need to be taken into account for next year.
