If you have something red on a gray background you can turn it green in two easy steps.

1.) Go to image/Mode/lab color

2.) Invert the "A" channel

That's the two steps, now if you want to tweak it,
If you go into your history pallet and put the history brush next to where you changed the image to lab. You can use the history brush to brush the orange back into the signal lights.

Oh Dear Lord!

It can't be that easy!!

Yeah, I would have tried to select the car, make a new layer, adjust hue/saturdation sliders til I liked them, then brushed back the lights.

Or perhaps tried the replace color function, but we all know how crappy that works sometimes.

Thank you Rey, for showing me something that was probably very obvious to everyone else.

LOL!

Thanks,Rey..
I also discovered that by further inverting the other lab channel the car color can be changed to blue, purple etc..

Good grief Rey, that is seriously cool.

You can also still adjust it with the hue/saturation tool.

You ARE da man. Bow

Thanks, Rey, very cool tip! I used the hue/saturation, never thought of channel reversal!
And the reminder about the history brush is great!

thats a lot cooler than how i would have done it...
1) duplacate layer
2) change hue of top layer
3) use the eraser to cut out the marker lights and anything else i didnt want to change the color of.

the cool part of your entry was the wrinkled and faded effect of the car cover!

Using the hue doesn't do a great job for a green shift.

I meant after you shifted it to green you could still hone it with that hue slider.
