Hello all. I am, of course, new to this site, but I do submit entries to other contest sites.

My question is: would it be considered bad form by the users here if the situation arose where I already created a shop for the same 'O' on another site (perhaps years ago), and then submitted the image here for a current contest?

I don't see anything wrong with that, I find myself recycling chops from time to time.

Well the choice is yous, I have used other aspects from other works to add t a new image, but come on creative artist want to create and redefine there art.

Oh and make sure you can prove its your, we are a huge community here and if people have seen your image before they will of course call you out on that. I once used an old idea that I had created at Fark and within minutes of posting it here was called out on it...lucky for me I could prove it was my work.

So yeah go ahead and post it and see what happens...just make sure its not a fat guy in a row boat eating a cake OK.

Wink

yeah...I used the same user name here as I do on Fark so hopefully that would help if there was an issue.

I took a third place entry of mine from a contest here and entered it unchanged in a contest at that other site and got second place over there.

I don't like the idea. In fact it rather irritates me. I don't want to vote on something you already did for another site.

Welcome to PSC.
you would need to at least use some of the PSC source for it to qualify here.. but as long as its your work... then why not..

I think it may be less of an issue on chops done elsewhere then brought here, because of that fact that you do have to incorporate the contest image into it somehow. I can see where the members at that other site might not have liked the fact that I didnt have to do any additional work to that chop in order to submit it there.

There is where the others sites like W1k have a flaw, unless they have changed their entry rules to say that you cant do this anymore.
The way their rules were...If I find anything in any of my old chops or old photos that I have taken that seem to fit their contest whether it was for personal, business, or contest use, I could still submit it as long as it it my work and fits the criteria for that specific contest.

Who knows they may have changed their rules over there by now though.

Well...thanks for the welcomes and the replies. Mostly, the question was just hypothetical in case the same "o" was posted here. I don't even know what the odds of that would be.
