Hi all,

I've entered a few of the contests and can finally start voting, yay! My entries are pretty newbish, but it's still a fun way to kill spare time. All I have to work with is a free glorified paint program. It seems to work ok for me and considering I can't afford Photoshop ( nor have I ever used it ) I would probably be lost, clueless and overwhelmed if I did have it. LOL

But it's still fun and I'm glad I found this site, you guys do some awesome stuff on here, I'm envious as hell at all the talent =)

Looking forward to seeing and creating lots of of cool images on here.

Cassie

Welcome. You can get Paint Shop Pro for under a hundred bucks. It's excellent software, though not as robust as PhotoShop. If you search around you may find a copy of Paint Shop Pro 10 for under fifty bucks. It's actually better than later versions because it's faster and isn't buggy. There is also freeware or Open Source software that will get where you want to be. The Gimp software comes to mind: http://www.gimp.org/windows/

.

I have gimp but I can't do a few things in there that I can do in paint(dot)net, which is the one I use. I'm addicted to their line tool that I can pull into sweet curves. I haven't figured how to do that in gimp.
I wish I had found this site sooner, would have loved to join in the H2H. Maybe next time!
Thank you all for the warm welcomes and advice =)

Look into Photoshop Elements which is another version of Photoshop for well under $100. I know it is used by Seelcraft and he says works just fine. Very Happy
