well Reinier... this must be a topic that should be rehashed, touched on, discussed, and so on every couple of months...

I ask you ... why are these people not talking about lighting, or the complexities of using blend and contrast modes... or even sharing brushes to mask with evenly...

Is it too easy to not worry aboot thier own photoshop knowledge, and complain aboot something that isnt even up for "fixing" Rolling Eyes

How`s this? I decided that I`m gonna wait until the third day to cast the majority of my votes...From now on, I`m only gonna cast about 5 votes the first couple of days...What does all of this matter anyway??? Rolling Eyes

Doodler has a GREAT point here (well... TWO if you count the one on top of his blessed wee head!)

This is no reflection on this particular thread - but we do spend a lot of time discussing NON-CHOP items. But I'm gonna go start a TIPS AND HIDDEN SECRETS THREAD!

The dialogues for voting patterns and member behavior are welcome to most, I'm sure, but I feel we also need to address the CHOPPIN' part of this website from a more LEARNING perspective as well (vs. the "critiquing aspect".

"Tell a man how bad his project looks, and you may effect one image. Show him how to do it better and you effect a thousand images!"

Okay... gonna go set up that thread now....Very Happy

I went for a while without Advantage due to some serious financial difficulties. I was struggling to pay the bills and life was caving in on me. The horizon was very dim.

Finally, my life took a drastic turn-around when my boss gave me a $3.95 cent raise per month. I'm living large now. I can afford Advantage again.

But then again, you could be voting for someone that waited till the last minute to make it and take 20 mins. to do it and it would be a hurryed job.

Rehashing the voting on this site seems to be somewhat of a sore subject to some people. I agree that it is probably a waste of time. However, I do have one question that more experienced members may be able to answer. "Has any "non advantage" player EVER received the most votes in a contest"? Answer this one question & I will never again raise any questions about the fairness or unfairness of the voting system. Basically I like this site & most of the people here seem very nice.

i wouldn't consider myself an "experienced member".....well i have been through the hazing....but that's another topic for the forum.

here ya go...

http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/72217/display.html
http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/71498/display.html
http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/70053/display.html
http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/69593/display.html
http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/69461/display.html

these are only on the first 6 pages of the contests....the winner of the last three i posted were all one member named...Meeshoo Klan who is NOT an advantage member.
http://photoshopcontest.com/boards/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=13138

it all comes down to talent. look at this persons profile....he/she is talented. so whether you post at 8am or noon on the day of the contest....or you have advantage......you're chances of winning a contest is all in your hands.....and has nothing to do w/ advantage.

i have advantage myself because i work all day, and don't really have the amount of time at work to make a decent chop...so advantage works for me....others may have it to receive more votes. i've noticed that i have received more votes when i post early using advantage....but again....that's not why i purchased advantage.

anywho....i have an appointment w/ the sandman.
take care.
