I know, I know... opinions are like butt-holes: we ALL have them, and some of them stink!
But I would much appreciate it if you folks might take a moment and give me some feedback on a couple logo designs for my new company, Brilliant Eye photographic creations.

Site access: www.BrilliantEye.ca
Go to the second "i" and click on the dot over it. You'll have 7 logo ruff ideas come up on a page.

There are two basic designs, and a few different font types. Also, a dark blue colour and a lighter version of the blue.

Lemme know what #'s you like and why, and (here's the FUN part for you) lemme know the ones that you DON'T like and why.

I do appreciate your help with this survey. Bow

I'm honest, so don't be hatin'==
I'm sorry but none do the trick for me, *cringe*
In all truth I don't like plain jane logos--
the logo for me has to express the product I am buying--
I should be able to look at the logo and just say automatically--
"THAT's a Reinman!"
Smile
Out of the group I like the one on the intro page.definately--
Which for some WIERD reason is NOT one the choices??

Of the options listed I would go with 4. But I do agree with Scion that the all are lacking something.

what up ReinMan!

Out of those I'll pick # 4, but i'm not crazy about that font ya used for "Brilliant Eye" ( too messy ) but I like the shape of it.

# 5 looks too much like it should be called Bulls Eye to me.

And I'm not liking the arrow on the rest of them at all.

sooo # 4

IMHO

Very Happy

I like the name
"Photography by Rein***"
It sounds gay but all the really great artist are gay--
plus it sounds like a business that's been around awhile--
I also like
"Old Van Couver Photography Company"
guaranteed to bring 'em in
I made them Up- you can have them ;-I

you could make a poll with choices 1-4 so you don't have to count out all the replies Wink

Number three is my favorite, because the elliptical shapes are the most like an eye. (Er, the most optic?) I like the color in number four, but the distressed font doesn't quite work for me. Were I to choose a font, I'd probably choose something round, to echo the circles. Maybe Americana, if you like serifs, Avant Garde (is that Avant Garde in #1?) if you don't.

Also, the others look like somebody's getting poked in the eye with a one way street sign, which would smart.

I would lean toward #4 too -- there's just something wrong with having something pointy pocking at an eye -- maybe you could sell those to a laser surgery office.

"somebody's getting poked in the eye "
Good point *narf!* yeah-that could be a subliminal nono-
at least now you'll know why sadist are strangely attracted to your service Smile

Easy choice: logo number two. That shade of blue is the boldest and most visually appealing, and similarly, that font is the strongest. Teal simply isn't bold enough; it's a nice complementary color (i.e., along with black or something dark) but that's about it. You also want a clear, strong font that you know will still be clear at varying sizes.

I have to agree that they're not really the most exciting choices...with a great name like that, I'd think they (you? whomever?) could come up with something a little more creative and less MS Paint-ish. Those are just my thoughts, though!

OK 5 is horrible. Sorry....but it is.

None are particularly eye-catching--just one basic style to choose from and it's just not 'you'........of all of them, I like the text in 4 & 7 best-but from the ReinMan I would expect something more POW........

ya know what I mean?

too bad about #5 - my fiance did that one Embarassed

Yeah. Okay, you've all been helpful - I appreciate the input. Guess I'm gonna have to go back to the drawing board.

Thanks All!
(& SCION - you are right, the poll thing would have worked good but I'll wait until I have better ideas to present.

Perhaps I'll just take up plumbing? Rolling Eyes

Don't you dare. You just keep on doing what you do best--dropping our jaws with your photography, and curling our toes with your wit and wisdom.

We'll keep doing what we do best, and that's CRITICIZE.

Argh

Deal?

Ok Reinier,

Here goes. I don't like them all. First of all throw away the lines and the elliptical shapes. Why should a logo get a frame? So please remove them. Stick with a sans-serif font,... and don't make them Italic.

I made you a quick example to show you another approach. Logo and business-card (front and back)

Well you asked,... and I deliver Wink Good luck.

#4's my fave. The rest are kinda plain, uncreative-looking. The eyeshape beats out the arrow, and I've never liked process blue (cyan) as a color in a logo. So, I like #4. But I also like falling out of trees. Hmmm
