I don't know enough about cameras to know if Canon Sucks, but I just got a Canon Rebel for Christmas and it is an awesome piece of equipment as far as I'm concerned. Loads of fun and my son looks like he's going to be a natural!

I'll be getting the zoom lens, but it was out of stock. Just waiting for the call that my lens is here.

So going from a point and shoot to the Rebel is like going from a Yugo to a Mercedes.

I'm thrilled!

Hehe. I was just joking. Canon makes excellent cameras. I was just trying to stir up a camera war (a.k.a. Photographer-nerd-war). Wink Just go to the forums on DPreview -- there are always wars between the Nikon and Canon people. Pretty dumb if you ask me. Razz

Sooo... I got the camera, but I still have one thing to figure out before it's battery is full...
Aren't you supposed to see on the LCD what's going on in front of the lens? Sad

Hope the canon-man is around.. I give you ONE hour, then I'll PM you Smile

Hah HAH!!!! You bought a REAL camera, my friend. There is an actual shutter and a mirror in there and that means that you DO NOT see what's in front of the lense via the image monitor.

I'm assuming this is what you mean?

Or are you talking about what you SEE in the viewfinder is a bit smaller than the actual image captured? That is normal in an SLR type camera - rarely do you see ALL that the lense is seeing...

In any event - you'll get used to actually LOOKING THROUGH THE LENSE again, and if not there is therapy available!

(P.S. that is why I kept my Powershot Pro1 with a swivel display, so I can do weird wacky strange angled shots and what not.)
