Ohhhhh! I saw my name few times around here!

I made my "bad taste" entries only to know what people had to say about this & that.
It wasn't for shocking, whatever if I knew that someone can be offended.
So, I was glad to read that topic, very interesting.
Especially Seamusoisin & Queen La Tiff comments.
I think I made nothing over the line, and it sounds that JMH thought the same thing.
Also, I always thought that if someone was offended by those images, it wasn't about kids or teenagers but adults.

But anyway, I'll respect everybody here, and I'll not do anymore polemic stuff.
I promise! Smile

could you be a bit more tolerant towards us unfortunate europians, we've grown up in a more liberal society with nudity in the daily papers, adverts, and all over the TV, 27-7.
i feel especiay sorry for the dutch, porn is a national industry over there Wink
we have not had the same strict moral conditioning you americans were bought up with, and tend to deliver some more liberal posts.
yours, apologeticaly, thesplodge

Thank you splodge, for pointing that out (and thank you British males for being the #1 sex tourists of Amsterdam's red light district - show me the money! Razz )!

By the way. what's all this about 'pg13'? What does that stand for anyway? Pround Girls of 13 y/o? Penis grows 13 inches? Pimped grannie's third teen?

Behold the Dutch rating system - it's so much more obvious:

Ive read it all...and have been waiting...as I know all of you have Laughing Well, my input...

Regarding the arguement that Nudity has a place in art. Artists shouldnt be censored, etc.
This site is not an "art" site. Its a fun contest where we start by manipulating an image we are given and doing it the best we can in a way that we enjoy and hope that others like it and vote. There are millions of ideas you can use to accomplish this without including nudity or graphic violence or testing how far you can push the line. This is not and "Artist's" forum.

Regarding the arguement that parents should police their kids more and "turn it off"
Its a photoshop community. Its a great idea for all ages. I have enough to monitor and "turn off" for my kids already. Why should I have to monitor a graphic arts website that is meant to be fun,a place to learn, a place to gather with others that have the same interst, a hobby. Id love it if my kids were interested in something like this and developed a talent for graphic design. I dont want to turn a site like this off for my kids.

Regarding the arguement that this is what we have moderators for. Its JMH's site.
I know from experience that there is no clear guideline for any of the mods to follow and this only causes more issues. Scion, is right...unless someone of some responsibility for the site creates some guidelines that are a bit clearer, we will always have this problem. If we had this, there would be no strife, no arguements about appropriate content...people would come and stay if they agreed, or leave if they didnt.

Morbid Circle arts, stop acting all innocent. How many nude/obscene images have you had deleted in the picture association thread? in fact, if I remember correctly, your first warning came from Nancers directly in the thread. You should have gotten the "picture" then without needing an official warning. Suck it up and move on.

Go to any other general population website and post nudity, graphic launguage and violence and you'll end with the same result.

I think more people will leave, than join if this site becomes an "Adult" site. Any public website, not deemed pornographic or adult in nature wants to attact as large an audience as it can.

i apologize as well, although this site is getting a little to pc instead of psc for my tastes..blah blah blah

mere_artist, get over it. you've made around 10 comments per month since joining here. With such little interaction here, how can you really be concerned about the political correctness.

Queen La Tiff wrote:
Seamus was right--you can't legislate morality, especially on a global level.

are we really trying to enforce morality by saying no more nudity or graphic violence? whether "in defense of the kids" or not? I dont think so. Its a simple rule. It doesnt state that its morally unacceptable or indecent...just that it shouldnt be posted.

THERE! that should make a few people run the other way Wink
I feel better though. thanks.

Norwegian TV's got boobs all over them. I think it's actually illegal not to show tits in norwegian movies.

Cant help it Mere Artist, I dont have the motivation to be an artiste like you. Ive always been more of a talker than a chopper. I dont chop because I dont like the way the contests go...that and I cant compete Laughing

The bottom line is PSC has never allowed nudity and has always tried to discourage any amount of it. Its nothing new and has nothing to do with the "polically correct" nature of this site.

The problem we have now is that the "line" has become even more blurred recently and that will cause issue with some, which will cause issues with others, which will result in a food fight, which might result in some detentions...possibly some knuckle rapping with a ruler even *gasp*

Not being able to post certain content on a public website has nothing to do with political correctness. You can dispute that if you like, but thats my opinion. One I enjoyed freely expressing. Thank you.

I agree. If I want to look at naked women, I go to the links Patre sent me. Other than that, I don't need to see that here.

(Just kidding...patre never sent me those links.)

Wow. Yet again I miss a good ol' knock-em-down, drag-em-out fight thread at PSC! I really need to get back in touch with what goes on here when there's fun like this to be had Laughing

Seriously though - it might be shocking to read this but: I agree totally with showcase (and nancers, etc).

There are hundreds of creative ideas we can use without resorting to 'controversial' images or those we know are likely to shock or offend. I think some of the newer members of this site should take some time to browse the portfolios of the top 10-20 members of the site (the likes of occecid, metalic, Serps, chrispis and so on) and see the amazing creative posts they were able to produce, the vast majority of which used creativity and/or humour without playing the 'controversy card'.

Not everything has to be about 'pushing boundaries', 'resisting censorship' or any of the other popular and self-centred nonsense that many people spout these days to justify their 'rights' (and often an excuse just to do as they damned well please without thought or concern for others).

This is jmh's site, and we should abide by the decisions of him (and his delegated mods) regarding acceptable post content.

Having said that, I agree with show's point in general that often, what causes arguments and confusion like this is when clear rules or guidelines are not given at the outset (or not consistently enforced once in place). I'm not necessarily saying that's the case here, as I can't comment on recent moderation activity or users' posts/comments - I haven't been around enough lately to do so. But I do recall this has been a problem in the past, and it's bound to remain a controversial issue.

Fact is though, whatever jmh decides regarding acceptable content is what is law here. Live with it, or find another site to play at.

Now what was it that funny Canadian guy used to say?
Oh yeah: "STFU and CHOP!".. oh and "STOP TOUCHING YOURSELVES!"

Laughing Cool
