Maybe the site is losing members faster than it is gaining them. More effective advertising should fix that.

I don't understand why animations are allowed in the contests. I can make a flash animation that will get votes in about 10 minutes. I am 10x's better at Macromedia than I am at Photoshop, but I don't believe .gif's have anything to do with a Photoshop Contest. Feel free to prove me wrong...

Mr. Spiral - it has long been discussed here regarding animated GIFs. Since ImageReady is a integral part of the Photoshop application, AND you need to have some good basic PHOTOSHOP awareness to create the layers and whatnot most people here are okay with animated GIFs. Flash, though (until the recent Adobe buyout) had virtually nothing to do with photoshopping, so that form of animation was not available.

In the end, anyways, it is the one closest to the accordion player that wins! Very Happy

Well a lot of my gifs are done as an afterthought. They started as (hopefully) a decent high res chop and then I decided to add a little 'oomph' at the end. These were all animated as an afterthought...

They all existed originally as decent sized static images that could have been posted as jpgs....
