that ad is particularly unattractive in it's original form.
i think people selling "PS" Products should really be aware
of their stinking graphics......Aye?!

hmm...I guess I'm special, then, because I don't have any banner ads on PSC that I can see.

no, turned all of my extensions off in firefox, no ads, both logged in and out, same with IE, and I don't have any 3rd-party things for IE. Plus, I checked at my school, both logged in and out. no ads there either.

EDIT: huh, that's odd. just checked for the third time now in IE, and there are banners now. Still weren't any at school, though, and they use unmodified IE. bizarre

I'm in full agreement that EVERYTHING seems to be about getting some of my money. This is why I won't enter prize contests, even though I think they're kind of neat. For me it's about getting better. Once I did a vector that took five hours, and someone came at me with a mocking comment to the effect that I could've gotten the same result in five minutes with Illustrator, and was therefore wasting everyone's time, including my own.

The joke is, I was trying to improve my vector work.

Bah!

Still a good site, though.

I totally agree with the comments and that is why I am a huge fan of Scott Kelby. If you've used his "down and dirty photoshop tricks" books you can see the cool transformations he makes using all items that came with ps and has more personality than a plugin. Like you said Queen with the comment you got it's not about how fast. It's about learning and whoever made that comment to you doesn't know much about the Illustrator program probably if their using all the short cuts. I used to do what was sweetly known way back when in the printing world as "stripping" for those who know what that is and now I work on a mac doing pre press assembly and it's amazing how the newbies have no idea of the craft of building an ad and what a challenge it used to be nor do they care. You just get an eye roll when you explain the process you used to do. I used to work on a 4 page assembly for about 10 hrs. where you can do it in about 2 now but I loved every minute of it. Not learning the guts of something is losing out. Now where were we...hahahaha. I'm with ya Rein. Do it the old fashioned way.....clone, erase and play play play.I will say though I do understand that JMH is putting alot into this site money wise and if he didn't have advantage and people advertising we wouldn't have a place to go anymore. That's what I like about advantage chat. It's like going in the back room and getting a break from it all. I could use a quiet place to chop once in a while with just a few ppl using only the basics. That would be fun.
