I don't understand what the point of these two links are. Except to add even MORE options to this site which is already DROWNING in options.

Could someone more NetSavy than myself please explain, in a nice SLOW manor, just what these do, why I should be excited about them, and if they really will let me sleep better at night.

Thanks in advance,
ReinCodger

don't worry. They aren't very important, at least not to most people. just ignore them.

Hey Rein,
If you have "Firefox" There is a plug-in program called "Stumble upon". You can pick categories that appeal to you. like art, music, guns, crack, whatever. Then you hit the "stumble " button and it brings you to really cool websites that relate to your choices. Websites that you probably would never stumble upon on your own. The more you give that page a good "stumble upon" rating, the more it will show up for people searching those categories. It would bring more people to this web site if people here would use it. ( I don't think anyone does) I know what it is and I don't use it. Confused As for "digg", I think it's the same deal as "stumble".
Does this make sense?

Ah - I see. Thanks for the ReinManLike explanation, dude! Wink

I'm distracted ENOUGH already by the WorldWideWeb, so I think I'll give these a pass.

Thanks for filling me in, folks! Very Happy

The way Digg, StumbleUpon, delicious, and tons of other site work is that the more votes a suggested site gets, the higher it is listed and the more visitors it gets. The idea is simple, but effective, as it helps keep spam away and excellent sites at the top. It definately helps the website get more traffic, which leads to a larger community and I'm not gonna lie also higher revenue!

Subguns.com
This is a typical example of a forum post. Somebody posts a link to PSC, people visit it and eventually lose interest. Sometimes you can see people bump the forum post up. In that case the graph simply repeats.

Stumble Upon
Pretty constant traffic. Helps a lot!

Digg
Not too popular around here. But you can still see it brings a few visitors.
