So, lets see if i got this... The intuos doesnt have an active screen, its like a giant laptop touch pad w/ a pen. And the Cintiq has a real screen that you work on, but the cheaper one ($999... HA : ...

It's an actual screen where you draw on it. You can see a demonstration of how it works on youtube. Just do a search for "cintiq". Lots of examples there.
