I went there for few shows... but mostly nothing about jazz... there's not only jazz music in the festival.

First I saw maybe the most original musician-singer-writer ever... That 1 Guy. He's a one-man-band using a slew of homemade instruments. His major instrument is the Magic Pipe, made with steel plumbing pipes and joints, orchestral bass strings, and electronics. Here's a vid I shot...
http://www.viddyou.com/viddstream?videoid=68363
And an official video...

I also saw The Dears. Excellent show! Some parts were so intense. 2 songs from their last album...

The Heavy were playing outdoors for free. I love this band...

And finally, I discovered The National Parcs, a local band.
Their project is an audiovisual album. You can see all their videos here... in HD...

YEAH!!! "That 1 Guy" is great!. That live clip sometimes reminded me if Primus and Ween got together and had a baby. I love "Buttmachine" ...of which is from one of the best shows to ever hit the boob-tube.. I friggin love Weeds....(and the show too.. Razz) I take that they are all Canadian artists at that fest? Got any more clips?

..and yeah , what can ya say..."The Dears" are just soo good . I saw them live on their second album tour. They were great cause they just seemed like a bunch of regular peeps( well....very talented ,regular peeps ,anyway) I like to go see a live act that is actually "live"...if you know what I mean.

I dont know why I havent picked up that album by "The Heavy" yet...but I'm reminded of it...so now I'm gonna have to....damnit.....jerk Twisted Evil

I'll be listening a bit more closely to "The National Parcs".

Thanks

oh......one I've been listen'n to as of late
Nebula Heavy Psyc.

I Like music. Whatever, If it is singing or dancing or listening.I like mostly sad songs. Why because in sad songs you will always get motivational lines in every song. They also gives freshness to mind because of soft music. That's why I like these type of songs.
I also like rocking songs, but only in dance parties and in journey.

I've heard a few cuts off the new Flaming Lips release, and it's OK I guess, never really been a hotlips fan, the lead singer reminds me of a good friend of mine that just up and died last year, he was a great artist and musician.

What do you think about this tune?

Thanks Irena, BC & Paul! Smile
I know... it wasn't recent posts... I wasn't on this thread for a while... don't know why.
Cool music! Cool

The dead Weather is intense... nice music. The vid is enough violent... Paul, is it a popular video on MTV? Shit... Laughing

Soft Bulletin & Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots from the FL are my favorite. I'll take a look at their new CD. Thanks!

The saxophonist Hakon Kornstad (from Wibutee) last CD.
It is a great solo effort... very "contemporain". I saw him two years ago on stage and I was impressed by his talent & creativity. Unique.

Also another talent from Norway... Knut Reiersrud... look the vid to the end... rambo

I like his music. You posted an older album of his , some pages back ( I believe) and I still haven't gotten to that one yet. Too much good music out there....I get a bit frazzled.

Something along the same lines....maybe you know of him?

I hope this new album of theirs is gonna get them some (much needed) attention. I really like the "Limbo Panto" album but was just not accessible enough for most, I think. One of the lead singers voices takes a bit of adjusting too....but I think it's great...rather unique.
