Sometimes you don't want to hear people say " It's going to be ok " because you know they are lying, sometimes you just want to know that people understand how you feel. People can't understand the feeling you have deep inside, sort of a feeling of just giving up or wanting to live another day. It sucks what you have bro but at the end of the day it's just you and your thoughts.

hope I understood everything right...sure, its hard to accept such an illness. to accept that totally health up to high age is just given to some of us, and that you (me too) are not one of these. to accept is important for getting healed and healthy, which is very much head-work. an illness should be handled actively, for example to swallow the best meds you can get, get information about new results from science, and so on. and if this is the only better option of two, then follow it, to make today a good day. try to lose fear of future, its wasted energy. you can just act in the presence to create a setting for your future. and when you feel that you will need help from an external, professional person, go for it, thats not a sign of weakness!

best wishes,
y.p.

Not trying to be harsh here, but I probably will be...

C'mon Rey.. You've got today! Go hug your kids and take them out to the park and let them know you love them. You're lucky to be here anyway after that motorcycle accident that could have as easily chopped you in half, am I right?

You have a ton of people here and at home that love ya! Buck up and move on. You've got today and that's all you've got. That's all we've all got, noone knows about tomorrow... So enjoy it while it's here!! Carpe Diem!

(gets off of soapbox)

Hug (And I'll throw in one of these because Reinman is a trendsetter and I will follow anything that he does...)

Sounds like a completely normal reaction to some heavy, heavy news, bro. Try to look at it as permission to forget about life a little and just "be".

Well, Rey.

I got some GOOD news,
and I got some BAD news:

You got LOTS of folks here that really appreciate you and love you in their own "manly" way.

And... they are folks from HERE. Smile Huh.. Neutral

So Dr. Rein prescribes some LAUGHING and some CRYING. Write a Sad Song, and then crank out a Killer CalypsoPolkaThrash song about Paris Hilton's chihuahua. Go throw some stones through an abandoned buildings upper windows, and then help an old lady across the street.

etc.

That's kinda like LIFE, doncha think?

Mix it up - don't try to THINK your way through it too much.

HAHAHAHA Jasper, I loved that!

I lost my best friend who was also my brother to cancer, which sucked...'nuff said. I'll never forget him saying:

"Now I can smoke pot legally for medicinal purposes, and I'm going to do it in front of mom and dad". And he did. And I watched. And we laughed.

I know you have a fantastic sense of humor Reysquared - remission is good, whatever emotional reaction you have is yours which makes it right. It's your health issue, no one else's.

Hugs and all that E-Emotion stuff. Wink

She never does.

Thanks all for the thoughts. I guess I just feel
like damaged goods. My wrist no good because I
fucked it up in that motorcycle accident so I can't even
throw a ball with my son. It also hurts to move it.
I have to sleep with a breathing machine because I have severe
sleep apnea which keeps me exhausted all the time.
Plus I have chronic throat infections from the sleep apnea
which destroyed my vocal chords so I can't even sing anymore.
I used to play guitar and sing for a living. ( those videos of me singing
were done after all the throat damage so I sound like shit)
Now I can't even get through a song and the voice is gone.
So I am losing the ability to do the things I love.
Plus I have been fighting a throat and ear infection for three weeks now!
I can't hear out of either ear becaused they are blocked.
I'm just sick of being sick and defective. I'm just feeling sorry for
myself and this too shall pass. I am going to a voice therapist next week.
Maybe he can help with the voice. I also signed up for some
college classes tha I always wanted to take.. So
I am trying to cheer myself up and improve things.
Thanks my online freinds for letting me vent.
I'll be fine. I know I will. I'm just in a slump.
Thanks all. Wink

I understand Rey, it sucks, it really does.

But we're here for you and you can always vent.

And you can STILL win contests!
