art is all about conveying a message. whether its clear cut, concise or just a connotation of somthing or an emotion... the idea is never to be accurate but to get the idea across in the best way the artist feels is appropriate...

accuracy is not a prerequisit for art or creativity but infact a limitation in many's veiw.
having to stay bound to what somthing looks like or supposed to look like ties the artist down... where as expression is a different medium entirly...

however that is no excuse for lazyness if your aim is mimicry of reality do a good job. And have the curtousy to try what people suggest i mean the glass thread is a fine example of adaptation from others advice.

But do chops always have to be art? I have to assume that even the best artists doodle on their post-its while on the phone. Sometimes a chop is just fun. And chops that are just fun but not good won't win.

I'll tell ya what, this site is photoshop skills and art combined. I think we should start looking more at how good the photoshopping is and less on the art. otherwise change the name to (PhotoshopArtContest) Rolling Eyes

Art is guaged by the stimulous response... chops are guaged by the quality or accuracy to life... but they can still be guaged by the stimulous responce... all chops are art ( as they are a creation involving the artists creativity )

deer feces have a sweet tang, which is complimented by a chewy texture. The small rounded pellets are great for travel or snacking.

This is an interesting topic.

I do have one argument however. Michelangelo was and is considered an artist. But he did many commercial projects. I believe people can be artists, but also have some artisan qualities. I guess my point is, artists need to make rent somehow. I have to disagree and say there are artists on PSC, this is just a way to outlet thier artistic abilities.

Michelangelo was a true artist in Ledirlo's sence of the word, because while he had to accept commercial projects, none of these commercial projects ever gave the person with the money what they wanted - all Michelangelo ever did was show how he felt about the person with the money and the subject he had to paint, or sculpt.

Even when he was asked to build weapons, he went totally outside the box, and spend thousands on things that could not work yet... Leaving the purses empty and the asignment not filled.
