This is my favorite band. They are amazing!
They have fans like David Bowie (he has been spotted at many of their early gigs), David Byrne, Björk ... Coldplay's Chris Martin called them "the greatest band in history".
But I'm just not able to find a ticket for one of their shows. Last time it was soldout in 12 minutes. They are coming in May.
There's no official video from this CD right now but here is a live performance...

Hopefully someone else around here as heard of Quantic
He's a pretty amazing multi-instrumentalist/producer/writer/dj who takes soul, jazz, funk, hip-hop, bossa, etc. etc. and makes his own blend.......hard to pidgeonhole.
This album is definitely in my Top 20 of all time.
It's extremely catchy and addictive
and this is Quantic Soul Orchestra (another Quantic outing):

...and another great album from Alice Russell, who sang with Quantic Soul Orchestra (Pushin On, amongst other songs ))

Damn....what a voice
Check them all out. Highly recommended.......well by me at least

Yeah! I can see some similarities. First, when I heard Arcade Fire, my impression was they were not necessary innovative... I tought it sounds like a band from the 80s. But if we compare those two bands, we can feel they aren't from same decade. Also sometimes, Arcade Fire reminds me some Bowie, Queen ... etc ... like my favorite song from last album "Antichrist Television Blues" is I think a mixture of influences from Nick Cave & young Elvis Presley.

I'm not really sure why I got them in my head but...yeah there's some similarities, although vague they are.
The band I most think of when I hear Arcade Fire is Echo and The Bunnymen...especially their early years......Ocean Rain for example. Ian McCulloch's voice is very similar IMO.

....classic!
They sound to me to take alot of influence from them and also a bit of Roxy Music.
