wow where an i begin to tell ya how crappy that will turn out.. hey kid fix the lighting in those photos...

it needs to be grotesquely light from above.. not flat lighting...

man some people just think you can work miricals (well we can but why make it harder for us...) especially as this is like asking for a favour the least you can do is take pictures with matching lighting...
once he gets the lihgting fixed it will be as simple as removing one face by using a flat texture and using the new face as levels... next to fix the eyes and so on...

For the original idea, maybe you could could show what they may look like when they are grown up (ie. getting a picture of a few grown ups and chopping the faces on or whatever) could be pretty cute/funny if it's done well
