Yes, I agree, its blazingly fast, but at this early beta stage, it just doesn't offer as robust an internet experience as FF or Safari. Its like being teased with a sample of food, without the benefit of having a full meal. For the time being, I'm staying with Safari as my workhorse browser, that is until Chrome matures a little more given time.

Good to see you being busy here Mr. Tarmac! Smile

Anyways... i'm a little "undecided" about google. Hmmm
Call me paranoid, but i'm not sure if i want a browser of them.

If you are interested in Chrome/Chromium (the open source kernel of Chrome) - and run Windows or Linux at the moment, Macs might follow - maybe have a look at the Chromium-based "Iron" instead.

They've got a point.

Thanks dunno. i'm headed back to the hospital on Monday for a lovely vacation of chemo and then back home again for three weeks. Lots of time on my hands these days to hang out on the net and just read.

As for privacy and Google, I give up. I use to be a huge privacy advocate back in the '90s. Today, looking back, I see it as a big waste of my time.

About the only privacy now worth being paranoid over is keeping my private info from the bad guys. The con-men who would steal one's identity and one's entire life in an internet second.

As for Google, I don't see them that way. At the worst they might share some sensitive info with the government that I would rather not be shared, but I don't see them as a threat like I see con-men.

Thanks for the heads up on "Iron". I'll have to wait until they port it to the Mac before I can play with it, but it does look promising.

Tarmac, hang in there and enjoy the days at home! I've heard there's nicer things than those therapies - but i've also seen people being healed that way. I'll keep all my fingers and toes crossed for you. Best is probably you distract yourself, maybe here on PSC. Wink

I never really wasted time on the privacy issue, but i still look for alternatives and ways to hand out as less information as possible. I just don't wanna be tracked.
Funny thing is, with those soft micro windows, every version was put into hackers lab to see how, when and why it would call home and before the first service pack there were tweaks to silence windows...
with google people seem to send in data free to the door without any worries. scratch
Mostly you hear then "those are the good guys" - for me its all multinational companies.
But again, thats just me.

...

And Rocky, still playing nicely with Chrome? Wink Laughing
