What the hell was this popup window that came flying onto my screen while trying to vote for a contest this morning.......
"Take this survey , blah blah black click here Safecounts.net"...

Seriously Evil or Very Mad I hope this isnt going to be a new thing here where I have to close advertisement links during my visit here.

If so that is Ridiculous

Anyone else experiencing this?

I have gotten it once here myself

I was shocked
Aghast
Appalled
Taken aback
Dismayed
Distraught
and otherwise not terribly happy.

OK, i did some research...

seems like we're both right, the morons at safecount use flash ads to open the popups, apparently it is a very diffuse annoyance throughout the web, to block them permanently visit their opt out page (i know this sounds shady, bah) this will install a cookie that blocks them.

No ad banners for me... is there a little "block" button that appears at the bottom right of it? If so, block it.

Did you subscribe to a filter too? Tools, Add-Ons, AdBlockPlus Options

These already have most advertisements pre-blocked.

Hope it works for you. Personally I haven't seen an advertisement on the internet in ages. I forget that people still do. Laughing

I second that. Very rarely (and I stress that) do I ever get any pop-ups....anywhere.

Hmmm... I'm talking about the banner ads (like at the top of this page). They are NOT pop-ups. Pop-ups I've had turned off forever so no probs there. I don't wanna see those damned EMBEDDED ads.

I'll play around with the settings - I'm sure it will work once I put some time into figuring out how to configure it.

Thanks for the help.

And now...

Back to our thread currently scheduled~! salut
