that was a great documentary.... I really enjoyed it... I get what you mean about frustrating though!
Glad you enjoyed it! To me and as Banksy said in the movie, I would encourage everyone to be artistic but this guy comes along and utilizes other artists to make him money... however, him filming is an art form in its self...so... blah blah blah
As some people noted, it could well be Banksy who created the art himself; there's not much footage of Mr.Brainwash actually making any of the stuff. The art is similar to Banksy's, except more clunky, with generally not much substance in the social comment. I think he makes it look like it is art from a bipolar person, created in a manic phase, where the guy thinks he's a genius, but is in fact creating nothing that hasn't been seen before.
Perhaps, ultimately, Bansky wants to show that if you create enough hype around an artist, anyone could get famous and sell art for a lot of money, because of buyers who only care about speculating and not much about art itself. Certainly some of these 'investors' are hoping that they are actually buying Banksy art and that once the prank is finally revealed, they will be owners of some very valuable assets.
