Maybe I stink at taking pictures, but why do the majority of the images I submit for consideration for source images get rejected?

This is probably why I do not submit them as often.

What type of images can be submitted and make it to the voting queue?

Ah the infamous Rein Range. Brings a tear to my eye and a really bad feeling in my gut. That poor thing was resurrected more times than Lazarus in a biblical play on Broadway.

As to what type of photos are being chosen. basically they are snap shots of objects or scenes that someone deems fit for chopping. There are seldom any pictures that are "photographer worthy" as there are not to many examples of good composition and some times the focus is a little off.

As someone once said here owning a Nikon does not make you a photographer but it does make you a Nikon owner.

The vase image was too low in resolution; the rose was way out of focus, but also too low in resolution as well.
If you ever want to know anything specific you can pm me and I can look through what you've submitted and let you know why.
In your case, it looks like you need to use a higher quality camera to get crisp, clear shots. Flower macros are a bit overdone, but the vase would have been an acceptable source had the image quality been crisp enough.

Of your last series of images submitted:
- four are waiting in the Source Queue to be reviewed (typically by BillTVShow)
- one is in the Voting Pool (about 90-100 approved images of which 5 are drawn daily at random to be voted on by Advantage users)
- two have been rejected (one is out of focus, the other has too much grain/digital noise)

I'm not a math wiz! But if I submitted 6 images, and 3 were rejected, why is it that 4 made it into the contests?
