Here's another update on our art festival!
We are still two months away from opening and we have already signed up a third of the 75 artists we are looking for to exhibit, and one is coming in from Naples Florida! Seems our promotion of the show is working. We are full up on food vendors, not accepting any more and the music slate was filled a month ago. We have finalized the VIP preview party and have a great jazz act coming in from Raleigh:

In addition, a notable wine authority, Arturo Ciompi is handling a wine tasting and free hors d'oeuvres will be lavished on the guests. We really want our artists to sell work even if we have to get the patron drunk!
The exciting news to me, an old marketer, is that the Craven County Tourist Board has come on with a grant to do out of county advertising to help us bring out of town guests in, a "heads on beds" initiative. And many local merchants are supporting us in full with restaurants discounts and discounted blocks of rooms in almost all local hotel/motels.
Two months to go and things are already really exciting.
