You'll get votes if you do a good chop (good = funny, technically accurate, witty, thought-provoking, etc.)

No one actually knows how (what application used) you do it. If you do it well in Microsoft Paint, you can still get good votes.

Even though the name of the site is PhotoshopCOntest, it actually isn't a prerequisite that you use photoshop. I used to get great results from Corel Paint, and I know others who've had some great results from The Gimp, and Elements, and other SPOOKIER applications.

Just do your best and have fun. And (MOST IMPORTANTLY) don't worry too much about votes !

I vote for a picture for a number of different reasons, but the fact that the picture was created using Elements or any other image editing program would not be a reason for me to withhold a vote for the picture, if the idea was good and the execution was sharp.
My hunch is that some current entries may have been created in an image editing program other than Photoshop, and most of the viewers/voters will never know the difference unless the author tells them.

Renals: If I may give you some un-requested advice : Question

You MIGHT want to make that image in your signature a wee bit smaller - it is REALLY BIG and VERY BRIGHT! Smile

Chow for now!

I agree with what's been said. The final result is the key.

I've had a few votes here and there and all I use is Paintshop Pro. No Photoshop at all. So it just goes to show that it's not the program, but the creativity and how much you put into a pic that counts.

Cheers!

That elements site looks very disorganized, PSC is without a doubt the best of the competition sites.

Up until the the start of this year, I was using Microsoft Picture It 99 and 2002 exclusively. Shocked
I switched to ps quite smoothly over the course of a couple months and with some critical tutelage from ledirlo. Cool

There are a ton of squirrels (thats a lot of squirrels) lining up to buy that
"Squirrel of the year" poster. As their agent, I have been instructed to negotiate for the purchase of 100 posters at 6 nuts per poster. And These are hard earned nuts they are willing to part with.. They are going "nuts" over the possibility of this kind of deal. One rarely finds such perfect squirrel images in the squirrel world, and thus the unabated squirrel excitement ....Visa converts all currency to "nuts".

Do we have a deal?
