As a personal favor can someone tell me whether or not my work is getting better? It seems like I've been spotty with my entries. I know I've had weak entries (the camera, seat belt pad, etc.). I blame most of that on getting my 10 entries so I could vote.
But I've had 13 entries now (one coming up thanks to Advantage) and some have gotten some fairly decent vote totals. Does this mean that overall I seem to be improving? 
I'm still proud of my flower from the icicles contest even if it only got 8 votes (was also submitted late).

It's a great combo of ideas and techniques basis. Take this very good idea and mix it with better techniques and it's a near winning entry for anyone. So, I tend to say it's a bit more about the idea... But I might be wrong. Cuz without good skills, your pic will never be the best out there. Not anymore.

Alex speaks wisely, oh great-substitute-for-livestock-and-protein.
A great idea by itself is not enough anymore. You have to be able to "pull it off" technically.
Just like a good technical post is not enough. There ought to be an element of surprise in your post.
