You could try a black and white theme" or integrate external sources into the picture" flip the picture vertical or horizontal and see what you can see" polar coordinates in the filter distort menu has interesting results, then you can chop pieces from that" try a night scene" Rolling Eyes just a few idea's for ya" Wink

When the ideas factory runs out of steam.

Add more coal.

I dunno i never liked copying other peoples ideas. it frigs me right off when i am like hey i coulld make trhat into a hand oh wait its been done... grah grah grah

But heres somthing interesting. if you can make a hand more convincing than the other guy do it.. its a competition remember.

but that aside. i think when ya trying to make somthing look like somthing else ya need to draw inspiration from your surroundings.

Before I start an image I do all of that, I just got nothing lately, I am not seeing anything despite what I have made in the last few entries. I am not sure why, but I open the image and just stare at it, haha. Razz

Sometimes if I can't have an idea for the contests I might make something to some thread or search tutorials and study or chop just for fun Smile

What I usually do is write down some ideas while I'm hanging around somewhere.

So instead of trying to get an idea for a source I work the other way around, can I use the source to create one of my ideas?

It helps to have some pen en paper with you all the time then.. (usually that's my problem...)

Usually, If I don't have a stunnuh' right away, I fullscreen the image and leave it up for a while. Then, if nothing, I take a nap. Nothing helps creativity like a nap! Been in a bit of a slump lately. I'm lucky to chop four entries a week. Some days I have a great plan but the chop just doesn't work out. I start a new folder everyday with the daily source. Needless to say, some of the largest daily files never amount to an entry.

That picture was taken from the top of a Las Vegas 'Deuce' double decker bus. It was an experience as any bump or depression in the road was magnified and the ride was not unlike boating in moderate seas. I would not recommend riding after drinking. Sorry the pic is el grande but it seemed to lose it's magic as it got smaller.
