.tif files
How can I make it faster when opening .tif files..
it's driving me insane. I'm working with really large images, but it shouldn't take that long.
Thanks for your help in advance.

the only solutions are more memory or a better computer.

How much memory does your system have?
Photoshop is a huge memory hog.
Also try purging. File----Purge
Let me know.

that might be useful, sliver, but on the long run i would invest in some more ram, it will speed up all of your programs.

sounds like a scratch disk problem. You may want to optimize them
I could write down how to do this, but why waste my time on it if it's already written down somewhere on the net

You might want to read to complete article too, it's very interesting on how to optimize photoshop performance. (alltough written with CS 2 in mind, much of these operations can be done with older versions too, the how might be slightly different)
