On his 4th birthday my son went to the big school for the first time, and he wanted to walk home on his own, at the end of that first afternoon, because he was a big boy. So I waited for him (school was at the end of our street) with the housedoor open. He barged in, popped his head around the door and said: "F...k you!" and he stuck his middle finger up.
I asked him why he did that, and he said "That is what all new children need to know, if they want to play in the schoolyard."
It took quite a while before the fun wore off.
The next fun part was, when he came home one day and said "I need one of the blue banknotes from your purse!" It seemed that somebody in the schoolyard was ordering children to pay him money, or else....They were waiting for him at school.
I told my son to go back to school and tell that person we did not have blue banknotes (that was a tenner in those days), so he was out of luck, and I called the headmaster to let him know what was going on in his school.
That was soon over.
The thing I was most happy with what that I raised my children to be open and tell me everything that went on, without fear of punishment. That way we could always talk about the bad stuff, as soon as it happened.

Good story...enjoyed reading it.

HA! TOO funny!
We are wondering when we'll see that around here, the hubby and I. This past week we heard our first "She started it!" and had all we could do not to bust out laughing.
Kids.
