This is the Stupidest idea ever, bringing money to the table would only cause trouble. We already have issues with people complaining about vote whoring and friendly votes, and thats only based on free daily contest were nothing is up for grabs. So when you have people chopping for money and this issues comes back
( because it will ) users are going to think they are being cheated out of their money.

Now, your idea is valid... I have contributed to a large amount of stupid ideas dooring my stay here too.

go play chess!

course only serious players only. rules would be tight. bannin would be many. if all you pathetic people still need the sensation of vote whoring to build your virtual ego, disconect and call someone.

2Rey me mate, I have been giving this idea a lot of thought. Now its no secret that I was against the prize contests and to be truthful I would not support a money prize pool either. Im sorry but I come here to have fun and money aint a part of fun form me. Now I’m not having a go here and I know Rey wont see it as that but I feel the need to answer this statement.

It's not about money. It's about fun and competition and getting others interested. The website is about art. This is just a fun side thing. You don't have to play if you don't want.
It's not that big of a deal. Really. Rolling Eyes

If its not about the money then why have money involved and if you are looking to recruit more people here, well there going to be mostly beginners and the prize pool will be way out of there league. Not a great incentive to attract more players to the field other than those that have an interest in making money. I understand peoples need to get recognition and receive a prize to say how good they are and to see there improvement, but this place for me is more about learning and having fun than winning.

That said mate I think the chopper dome is a huge success and hope after the h2h, you and Mr Shade keep it running. There have been some real good contests started in the forums that have had great runs and real merit for the site I would rather see a concerted effort place on making them more stream lined and use friendly. In saying that it would be great if we could have the special events that are held here more structured with regards to dates and rules, even have like an entertainment committee that can keep information active and prepare for these special events.

The H2H, reunion chop, scavhunt, even chop like a pirate day need to be dated and set. Lists and names recorded so Email and invites can be sent ahead of time to those that have participated before. I know that if the scavhunt is scheduled for November 15 2008 then I put it on my calender or reminder pad…when the time is close have an official statement in the news section and the forum, have set organisers. If we can do that then new contests can be tried and even scheduled for nest year If one person or a group are in charge of the contest things should run well. Damn this response is longer than I wanted.

Instead of catering to a few people lets try and cater to the majority first with contest that work, streamline them get them running well and then start with a new idea. Ok soap box done with.

I am unlikely to participate in a game like ReyRey has suggested, but I do agree with him and Showcase. (I also agree with Blue: I don't happen to like having money and other prizes become more and more the focus of PSC when it used to be about learning. However, that's already become the course of change and is really a separate issue, I think.) This proposed game would be just another additional and occasional "feature" of the site. If you don't feel you can compete on the playing field where the game is going to be held, stay in the bleachers. And, if you don't like this game, develop your own to share with the site! No contest or game will ever suit everyone... so there's no need to try to make it "one size fits all." So what if this one doesn't fit you? Just don't play. Make some other game that fits you and others will join. We need less naysaying and more effort put into creating and following through with more activities.

As for making this type of H2H divided into "levels," you know that some hustler will make a fake account with a wimpy portfolio just to join in a money/points H2H at a lower level and wallop his/her competition from out of nowhere. And how to do you prove that user was a hustler and not just blessed with a lucky stroke of inspiration?

Right you are Caf.:

Don't forget that today's Friday, and the TCM competition has its entry today! Make a toy with the contest image is the challenge for this Friday.
