I'll step in here a moment.

One of the reasons I am laying back at PSC is (and you know I respect you dude) Marco-Mania.

Not him SPECIFICALLY as a person, but what he represents.

He wins too many contests. There are people here that ARE better than Marco in the long run. Marco is PERSISTANT and keeps throwing spaghetti at the walls and some of it has GOT to stick, this is true. BUT.... many of his wins have NOT been the best in a particular contest.

In the past I have called him a few times on either perspective or shadow issues. He has always thanked me and he's proceeded to tidy up these "issues" with his chops. BUT BUT BUT there were, like, thirty votes or more already for his "not so accurate" chop. Why didn't anyone mention the shadow was going the wrong way? Why where there so many comments that said "BRILLIANT MARCO" - "PERFECT, MARCO!" ?

I'm sorry, but this does speak of favoritism.

AND AND AND, I really don't think that one can OUTLAW favoritism here at PSC. It is inbred to the core here. We like who we like. Whether they buy us Advantage or they send us nice PM's that suck on our ego's hard bits, this is going to happen here.

But it makes me trust the over all bunch of you LESS.

Let Marco have his wins when he is Really Brilliant (and he can and will be)... but NAIL HIS ASS when he gets lazy. There is a part of him that probably (i imagine) HATES that, but I also KNOW that there is a part of him that really appreciates that.

And this goes for other "top dogs" here too. They do fuck up. Don't let them off the hook. If they want to be in the Top Ten, let them earn it and KEEP EARNING it.

And KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN for the dude or dudette that is COMING UP from below. They are there. It might be YOU. But stop sucking on the teat of Popularity. It is embarrassing to those of us that have some "outside" perspective.

(and I know, who gives a fuck if ReinMan's embarrassed. But what I say is true. Too much Sucky Sucky makes for a Sad and Softer site.)

(Marco forgive me here...) but if you people think that your life is gonna be better just because YOU PROP UP MARCO when he's SLOPPY - if you think that having MARCO as a BUDDY is gonna make your LIFE ANY BETTER... if you think that being good to MARCO is gonna get you some free time on the Advantage Train - you gotta REALLY look at why you are chopping here.

In the end, you gotta decide if you are running a Popularity Show or if you are trying to do something Artistic and/or Learn something Artistic. If you wanna grow, you gotta be willing to step outside the Popular Box and stand on your own. I actually have no doubt that Marco can do that - he's a fairly strong individual me thinks. But it doesn't take the cult leader to become the cult leader. It just takes a bunch of people that MAKE the cult leader the cult leader. Most cult leaders don't say "don't make me a cult leader". We push up Marco and feel good about it, we push up Rey² and feel good about it.
I say let's keep our eyes open for the one that has gotten lost in the shadows. That is just as bright but has been "missed" due to the apparent GLORY of the current Hot Star.

Nothing personal, but Marco has proved he is one of the tops here. I think it wouldn't be a bad thing if he made some room at the top for others. And I think that others actually get some cohones and get willing to push him aside.

you have 25 votes, use them, and marco's chops are usually in the top 25, and with enough people that feel that way it turns into a top 3 quickly by having a style that appeals to the masses, there might be mistakes in his as in practically everyone elses (he enters nearly everyday, you might miss stuff after a while) but a lot of his do have more skill than the majority of the other posts. VOTE HOW YOU THINK YOU SHOULD and leave the rest of the votes to everyone else. (and grats btw on 5 in a row, still an amazing feat even if some where slightly lucky )

I never claimed to be the best chopper in here... far from that. I always said Claf and Alex were the best choppers in here (yay... go canadians)... (ok, you too Reysquared). But as my dear Reindude said, people make an idol out of marco, just because he has way too much time in his hands, and way too much popularity. WTF is this? US highschool?? I appreciate yer hate for me manic. But as anfa said, marco is far from a top chopper to win all the time. And if he's not a top chopper and keep winning, the only reason I see is popularity, what takes off the slogan of PSC, "creative contests". They're becoming popularity contests. I vote for marco... when he does good. And as for what mikey said, about learning, I just hope most of the newbies that see marco outstanding, don't try to "learn" with his chops... once I did a huuuuuuuuge shadow in a plane, and dew mocked hard on me for that (still do, anyway, right dew? ). But like reindude said, everytime one points a flaw to marco, he thanks, but don't try to learn how to do it better... he keeps making the same disgusting flaws. Ask dew if I improved my shadows after he pointed it... now, when you do a good chop, and see marco with 20+ votes more than you, doesn't it make you feel ill??? I just feel like that for other people, that probably don't dare to say a word against pop king. When I saw his sponge bob chop in the front page, I was like... WHAT THE FUCK????????? Everything is wrong about that chop... if he had made an alias an posted under an unknown name, it would have like 5 or 6 pity votes... (or maybe a couple dozens more from his outside voters). And manic... I never said ANYONE is uneducated... don't put words in my mouth... I'm just saying any piece of crap marco does is "PERFECT", "GENIOUS", "GREAT" from the eyes of people who can't actually figure out it's far from perfect, great or genious... again... his sponge bob chop is DISGUSTING!!!!
