That would definitely distract from the actual chop. Lots of sites use watermarks in the corner.
Plus, you can simply move the one in the example over the middle, and lower the groups opacity. Example is below.

If you make a flash movie, you can add a watermark in the last part - with your name, so they either cut that out - or you get the credits and maybe even more attention. It's just like advertising then.
