solid glass orb or thin glass hollow sphere?

vok, I hadn't really thought of it, but I think I was picturing thing glass. I guess solid would have bubbles in it....

well, the reason I'm asking is as follows: a thin glass sphere will not cause such deformations, especially in the middle - look through a light bulb for reference.

You also need a more visible edge, as the glass will have some thickness, and some highlights on the inside surface. You also wouldn't have that shadow at the bottom. A solid glass sphere would be, of course, completely different.

I agree about the shadow... but it looked like it was floating without. any suggestions? and yeah... I should probably have a better edge. I always seem to err on the side of translucency with these spherey things!
