Very imaginative! Great job on DOF. Corpse is too dark when compared to other objects. It doesn't seem possible that the man's head could cast a shadow and it looks like it should be completely in shadow.

Super*! I think with that light angle, his head prolly would cast a bit of shadow but not his legs. Is that top (closest) surface perforated? If so, I'd invert the holes' lighting.

Terrific in Hi-res. I liked the way you created the chasm inferno and the climbing walls. I also like the edge, shadow and sieve work to create the steel grate look. Creatively ironic, if I have correctly interpreted the theme.

Nat: I actually "liquified" his face a bit to make him less happy looking, but I didn't want to overdo it. In the external, he looked really happy for some reason. :)

Tadams: I don't know, the corpse may just be that color? I 'fudged' the lighting on the dude's face a bit, I agree; I wanted part of his face to be lit. I think he would look odd in complete darkness.

Consider making the guy bigger; especially the head, as well as the right arm. I know you're shooting for a DOF look, but when I see his head compared to the skull it looks way too small. As for the corpse, it could use additional side lighting.
Goat1981 Goat1981
Hehe. I must've changed the guy's size 15 times when making this image. I had him bigger, but then the hand was too large. I may play with this more. I won't have access to the PSD for a little bit. :-I I did it on the school computer (that has C

Post-contest update: Made guy larger without changing hand size; Changed shadow on 2nd tier; Changed light direction in the perforations. Thanks for the tips. :-D
