...however there is an element of ambiguity in your message which is confussing some people imo...

ie.do you perceive the change you speak of (the cross transforming into a swastika) as positive or negative? Are you critical of,or supportive of Marxist Brecht's statement warning us of the coming of another "bastard"?

Who in reality is this BITCH Brecht speaks of?Is the church the victim or the culprit of this change?Either way excellent, powerful thought provoking gif... fav'd ;·)

I don't know how this could be construed as racist, but if one looks for racism everywhere I suppose it will be found.

Luis, the swastika jumped at me out of the cross. I then saw I could change a symbol of good into a symbol of evil. This is clearly a negative change.

When masses of people act to implement change without due consideration, they sometimes produce change for the worse. My intent was to convey this simple cautionary message.

The Germans of the Weimar Republic produced such a change when they enabled a great orator and messianic figure to come to power. Hitler and his cronies exterminated eleven millon or so "undesirables" and plunged the West into a ghastly war.

I used the Brecht quote because I agree with it--the "bitch" is socio-economic instability, I believe. Of course, I could have changed the cross into a hammer and sickle.

Considering that, the Brecht quote was meant to be ironic. Sadly, I think we are living in times not much different than the 1930's. I expect much unpleasantness.

Sorry about the glitches above. I rewrote a couple of entries because they didn't seem to be registering. Oh, well. Anyway, there you have it.

The word "swastika" comes from the Sanskrit svastika - "su" meaning "good," "asti" meaning "to be," and "ka" as a suffix. the swastika is a sacred symbol in Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Mithraism, religions with a total of more than a billi

thanks for the clarification Ted.that's kind of what I thought you were trying to convey and I fully agree with you.people should awaken to the realization of these dangers so as the tragedies don't keep reocurring.this is a good wakeup call :)

Swastikas and the KKK are scary reminders of tattooing that was forced upon people persecuted under German National Socialism.

It is still related to the "Socialist Slavery" symbolized by the overlapping S-letters of the swastika under the National Socialist German Workers Party.

and eve & blue lurker make a very valid point.the solar cross or swastika has always been a positive solar symbol of regeneration in many ancient cultures.that image has been tarnished by it's relatively recent negative association to the nazi movement.
