The 'good' old times... Great T!

Good illustration, but the caption is crucial. (My great grandfather remembered the US Civil War.)

Great theme and idea. Wheel chair guy seems too small to me.

Nice One T, I just worked out your shadow angles and you are pretty close, but sailor's is too short, should be higher and not so dark (See Davit shadow for density)

Look at the shadows from the cannons. The shadow on your people are going the wrong way.
Tawiskaro Tawiskaro
Rey, I disagree. Look at the shadow of the davit to the right of the old guy. I see the sun as high, slightly right, and slightly front.

Based on the hot spots on the metal I'd say the sun is more to the middle, which means the character shadows ought to move more to the right of their respective positions.

FYI: Hey T, I'll post my shadow image triangulation on the forum after the contest is over if you're interested. Did a lot of this stuff in 'Architectural Drawing Classes' many many years ago. Wiz

Thanks, Wiz. Yeah, I'd love to see the method. I just eyeball the stuff.

That will be helpful to me too. :-)

Myy findings are based on a scientific home test using a lightbulb, Wacom pen, and a legal pad for a wall. I stand by my shadow assessment, but if you want to share your strangulation method, Wiz, I'll take a gander.
