There's some perspective issue, the floor seems to be falling off to the right

I like the idea but the ray of light should be blurred and the shadow is way off.

I like it*! The light beam doesn't match the floor lighting. I looks to me like it's coming thru a multi-paned window..so the beam would be broken up...ie multiple beams.

IMO, the shadow of the cap should be a bit larger, if you draw a median straight line of the light spot , touching the left extremity of the cap, the place it meets the ground is the circle where shadow will start to soften to inside, darkening.
